The $ETH trend looks a bit awkward right now.
Initially, $ETH had a higher long-short ratio than both BTC and SOL, so if the CPI came in positive, ETH had the potential to outperform.
But last night’s drop likely scared off quite a few traders. $ETH ’s long-short ratio was around 72.3% long vs. 27.7% short, giving it a ratio of 2.61 — higher than BTC at 1.6 and SOL at 2.01. That also explains why the leverage flush was more severe on ETH.
If tomorrow’s CPI comes in negative, we could see another round of liquidations and a stronger shakeout.
Hopefully, the CPI surprises to the upside. A large amount of leverage has already been cleared, which could set the stage for a stronger ETH rebound afterward. 📈
