PPI month-over-month 0%, core month-over-month 0.2%. This PPI further confirms last night's moderate CPI.
It indicates that not only are consumer prices cooling down, but the price pressure on the production side has not significantly re-emerged.
The market will further reduce the necessity for an immediate rate hike in September, but whether to completely rule out a rate hike still depends on the PCE mapping projects and next month's CPI.
From the data alone, there seems to be no need for a rate hike in August, but politically and feasibly, September might be the only rate hike window before the election!!

Update on the US crypto regulatory saga: Congress stalled, SEC took the lead
The long-awaited "savior" CLARITY (Digital Asset Market Clarity Act) — passed by the House, cleared by the committee, but when it came to the full Senate vote... it was stalled (confirmed postponed on August 6, to be revisited on September 15). The probability of passage on Polymarket dropped from 82% to 21% this year — a disastrous turn!
With Congress lying low, SEC Chair Atkins decided to bypass them and on August 14 aggressively pushed the Regulation Crypto proposal. The core shift is that the SEC moves from "chasing enforcement" to "leading the way," telling you exactly how to get rules and exemptions without relying on lawyers' guesses.
But don’t get too excited: August 14 was only the decision on "whether to issue a request for public comment," with formal implementation earliest by 2027. So for now, it’s more like a signal: regulatory certainty is squeezing out from the executive branch.
In the short term, limited impact on the market, but long term: positive for Bitcoin, negative for altcoins! BTC’s identity is clear, the framework is being built, and many altcoins still have to "guess whether they count as securities" and "whether they will be targeted for enforcement."
Do not use No-KYC Crypto Cards
A while back I showed that you can find out who issues your Crypto Card. It is public, it just sits in terms nobody opens
I read the terms of 11 cards sold as no-KYC. There is nothing to dig up. Not one of them names the bank holding your money, and one contract makes asking a violation, "prohibited and will result in immediate action"
Here is what those documents actually say:
- Breakage is the business model. Cards expire in 6 months and the operator writes it out loud: issuers "make revenue from breakage", the funds left on dead cards. Your unspent balance is not a leak, it is the product
- Getting money out costs more than putting it in. 14% with a $10 minimum to return your balance, and only "if a refund is possible" at all
- Fees are front-loaded, so the smaller the load the worse the deal. "3% of the total amount of the card, plus 2 USD" turns a $10 card into 23%
- Part of your balance is not spendable. A 110% reserve before every transaction means $100 of spending needs $110 parked
- Freezes are written in, not accidental. Funds frozen and the account closed "with or without notice", closure "without compensation", and the return of what is left "may be deferred" while their fees are taken first
There is no deposit here, no insurance and nobody to escalate to. When the arrangement ends, the balance ends with it
They are still worth having for what they are. A one-off payment, an amount you can afford to lose, back to zero the same hour
Just never make one your everyday card
Do you use those crypto cards?

Some thoughts on this altcoin season:
If you play this altcoin cycle according to the logic of the last altcoin cycle, your mindset will inevitably collapse.
What everyone thinks altcoin season is:
1. Like the last cycle, all coins rise, whether new or old coins.
2. The increase matches the last cycle's gains; only then is it called a rise, only then is it called altcoin season.
In fact, many altcoin sectors in this bull market are already relatively large. If you haven't made money, it's because
1. You missed the rhythm and missed the explosive sectors.
2. You entered late, with a high cost basis.
For example, if you bought WLD at 9u or ORDI at 70u and call them trash, saying there's no altcoin season, look at how much they've risen from the bottom to the peak. Why didn't you buy earlier?
These two altcoins above belong to local hotspot altcoin seasons.
For those holding old coins, don't fantasize that all old coins will reach or even break their previous highs; not every coin is INJ.
Most old coins have already exited the historical stage, but in the final phase of the bull market, they will still pump a bit to show respect to the bull market.
Strategy (MSTR) sold 1,690 BTC to build a cash buffer, CEO says "Bitcoin alone" is not enough
Strategy reported selling 1,690 BTC (about $109 million) on August 10, reducing its holdings to 840,449 BTC. Meanwhile, CEO Phong Le stated that the company currently holds $4.75 billion in cash reserves and is shifting towards a broader "digital credit" business model, including preferred stock products similar to STRC.
This marks Strategy's move from pure Bitcoin accumulation to diversification, which may reduce its future marginal buying pressure on Bitcoin!
It's the same in any financial market: without profit incentives, funds will either withdraw or reduce investment. The bear market is indeed tough and requires patience to wait it out!

Bitcoin bottoming out in October? This legendary post predicted accurately last time, but can it be trusted again... Since peaking last October, it has been stagnant for 10 months, and faith is almost worn out. However, the community has dug up that anonymous legendary post again, saying the bottom will be in October — the problem is, just because it was accurate last time doesn't mean it will be this time; the market specializes in disproving fixed ideas.
