I was nineteen in 2017 when I first heard about Bitcoin. I was working part-time at a coffee shop, making barely enough to cover rent and instant noodles. A friend showed me a chart on his phone. Bitcoin was around $4,000. He said, “This is the future.” I didn’t understand blockchain, wallets, or volatility. I just understood that I wanted out of my small life. So I took $1,500—almost everything I had saved—and bought my first fraction of a coin.
