Cathie Wood’s ARK Buys BitMine, Nvidia, Sells Coinbase, Robinhood Stocks

Cathie Wood‘s asset management firm ARK Invest continued its buying spree for BitMine Immersion (BMNR) and Nvidia (NVDA) stocks. Wood believes Ethereum treasury company under Fundstrat’s Tom Lee as the next ‘winner’ as it power DeFi adoption.

Meanwhile, ARK Invest funds offloaded stocks of crypto firms including Block Inc. (XYZ), Coinbase (COIN) and Robinhood (HOOD) on Monday.

Cathie Wood Boosts Exposure to BitMine Immersion

BitMine Immersion Technologies, backed by Tom Lee, became the largest Ethereum treasury company as its ETH holdings surpassed $2.1 billion. This positioned the firm’s role as a leader in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest funds purchased 572,853 BMNR stocks, which were worth more than $20 million at the closing price of $35.11 per share.

ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) purchased 401,318 BitMine Immersion (BMNR) stocks worth over $14 million. The stock weightage increased to 0.193% in ARKK.

Ark Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) acquired 128,048 BMNR stocks valued at almost $4.50 million. The stock weightage in the ETF rose to 0.194%.

Moreover, Ark Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) bought 43,487 shares worth $1.52 million. Also, the stock weightage jumped to 0.109% in the ETF.

BMNR stock price closed 11.78% lower at $35.11 on Monday, as per Google Finance. Also, the stock extended the fall to 15.12% after market hours due to investors’ concerns over the shelf offering to buy more ETH.

On July 21, Ark Invest bought over 4.4 million shares in Ethereum treasury company BitMine Immersion. Cathie Wood reflected Ark Invest’s investments into BitMine as a “vote of confidence” in the ETH treasury company.

Ark Invest Funds Buy Nvidia Stock

Cathie Wood also purchased Nvidia shares as the price continued to hit new all-time highs. The stock closed 1.87% higher at $176.75, with buying seen in after trading hours.

ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ) bought 17,869 NVDA stocks and ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX) acquired 9,255 NVDA stocks.

ARK Invest funds shifted focus towards artificial intelligence (AI) and continued accumulating millions of Nvidia shares.

Coinbase, Robinhood, and Block on Selling List

ARKK sold 134,833 Block Inc. (XYZ) stock, decreasing the weightage to 0.149% in the ETF. ARKW and ARKF also offloaded 43,003 and 8,591 Block shares.

Jack Dorsey’s Block Inc. entered the S&P 500 but failed to show the expected performance, with the stock up 18% in a month. XYZ stock price dropped 0.21% to $80.57 on Monday.

Notably, Ark Invest sold 90,061 shares worth about $7 million last week.

Cathie Wood turned bearish on Coinbase and Robinhood ahead of quarterly earnings due later this week. Ark Invest funds sold $90.6 million in COIN shares and $11.46 million in HOOD shares last week.

On Monday, ARKW sold 18,204 COIN stocks and 66,186 HOOD stocks. Also, ARKF offloaded 52,904 HOOD shares.

Coinbase stock fell 3.11% to $379.49, whereas Robinhood stock jumped 1.83% to $106.77. HOOD outperformed Coinbase stock by 3x despite massive trading in the crypto market.

According to estimates, the companies’ expectations for EPS and revenue for Q2 were lower than Q1 estimates. Analysts have maintained a ‘moderate buy’ rating for both stocks, considering the expected peak in Bitcoin price by Q3 end.
