About AIAnxietyHitsChipStocks
At the All-In Summit on Sept 14, Trump called Nvidia CEO Huang on stage, dismissing AI takeover fears as a 'scam' and vowing not to let safety concerns slow AI development; Huang agreed. Anthropic CEO Amodei called for slowing frontier development for safety governance; Altman agreed, and Obama called for a clear AI policy framework. As debates intensified, chip, memory, and data center stocks sold off. The divide widens between AI safety calls and the continued scale-up of compute investment.

AI will not slow down
Author: Ye Su; Source: X, @allen_su1024
Weekend. Dario suddenly published a long article titled "We Must Pace the Frontier," clearly proposing for the first time that frontier AI should proactively slow down.
His reasoning is simple. AI may significantly advance disease treatment, economic growth, and social prosperity in the next 5 to 10 years. But by 2026, things will change. Agents will have truly entered the real world, models will start participating in the development of the next generati
The key distinction is between slowing model releases and slowing infrastructure spending.
AI and chip stocks sold off Sept 14, yet AI data center investment remains elevated. My read: calls for more safety evaluation are a risk to the pace of expansion, but a weaker GPU demand outlook would need evidence that spending plans are changing too.

While AI stocks bleeding — CoreWeave -6%, MARA -5% after Anthropic CEO called for slower AI development
Crypto is outperforming.
$BTC +1% to $77.8K, $ETH +2% to $2.5K
Narrative flipped. Money leaving overvalued AI chips, hunting oversold BTC that was dead at $60K last month.
BTC was oversold for months. Now short-term traders betting $80K+ by Dec.
Rotation is real — not hype.
Are you still in AI stocks or rotated to crypto?

#AnthropicIPOOnNasdaq Anthropic is targeting an October IPO on Nasdaq — filings by end of September, roadshows mid-October. Up to $100B raised at a ~$2T valuation 👀
The timing is wild. Dario Amodei just publicly called for slowing frontier AI development to let safety governance catch up. Altman and Musk both expressed support. Trump pushed back, saying slowing R&D on safety grounds is the wrong move 🤔
So Anthropic is going public while its own CEO is advocating for the industry to pump the brakes. That's either the most principled IPO pitch ever, or the most complicated one 🫠
Nvidia reportedly in talks to anchor up to $10B. If that holds, it's the biggest single anchor commitment in recent IPO history 🔥
Safety governance as a moat or a drag on iteration speed — that's the bet investors are being asked to make here. Does Dario's safety-first stance attract the right long-term capital, or does it spook growth investors? 👇

Elon Musk on what “Dario is right” actually meant.
"I probably should have said Dario is right."
"I did try to clarify it in subsequent posts on X, but those get much less attention."
"The danger of AI is very significant at this point."
"That we need to do better with AI safety, or we have at this point exponentially increasing risk with the AI models."
Hosts asked if he meant the harm, the regulation, or both.
He narrowed it to the risk — not a regulatory manifesto.
• Danger of AI — very significant now
• Safety bar — has to rise with the models
• Risk curve — exponentially increasing
• Clarification — X posts got less attention than the three-word stamp
Believe the people building the models when they say they are dangerous.
Peer review before release is the next move — not a slogan.

JENSEN HUANG WAS ASKED HOW TO EXPLAIN A "10% CHANCE OF EXTINCTION" TO A NORMAL PERSON
He said you shouldn't try, because the number is made up.
"These are well-educated. They're called researchers. Obviously they're working in a lab. And so the confluence of these words and then the prediction is alarming and troubling, and it shouldn't be done. It's irresponsible."
Then he listed the predictions that didn't happen.
"There was a prediction that in five years' time, radiology will be completely taken over by artificial intelligence and there'll be no radiologists in the world. That has proven to be exactly the opposite."
"Within 6 to 12 months, 90% of code would already be generated by AI. That has turned out to be wrong."
"50% of entry jobs will be wiped out. That has proven to be wrong."
"We have to take account for all of the stupid predictions that were made."
