How do I top up or fund my OKX Card? (EEA)

Published on 20 Jan 2026Updated on 23 Feb 20263 min read

The OKX Card is funded through your OKX Pay account balance.

How funding works

To pay with the OKX Card, you need supported stablecoins in OKX Pay:

  • USDC

  • USDG

You don’t need a separate prepaid card top-up as long as you hold supported stablecoins in OKX Pay.

Steps to get ready to spend

  1. Open the OKX app and go to Pay.

  2. Ensure OKX Pay is set up and your card is activated.

  3. Add or hold a supported stablecoin balance (USDC or USDG) in OKX Pay.

  4. Pay using the OKX Card online or via mobile wallet.

How to buy USDG in the OKX app (detailed)

The exact screen names can vary slightly by app version and region, but the flow is generally:

1) Find where you can buy or convert assets

  • Open the OKX app.

  • Go to a buying/conversion entry point such as Buy, Trade, or Convert/Swap (the label depends on your mode and region).

  • Choose the option that lets you acquire a stablecoin (USDG) using either fiat or another crypto.

2) Choose USDG as the asset you want to receive

  • In the “You receive” or “Buy” field, select USDG.

  • Enter the amount you want (either in USDG or in the currency you’re paying with).

3) Pick how you want to pay

You’ll typically see one of these routes, depending on what’s available to you:

A) Buy USDG with fiat (card/bank options, where available)

  • Select your fiat currency (often EUR).

  • Choose the available payment method shown in-app.

  • Review the preview (amount, any conversion shown, and final receive amount).

  • Confirm the purchase.

B) Convert from USDC to USDG (if you already have USDC)

  • Open the conversion feature (Convert).

  • Set From: USDC and To: USDG.

  • Enter the amount and confirm.

C) Convert from other crypto into USDG

  • Use Convert/Trade to swap from a crypto you hold into USDG.

  • Confirm the details shown on the preview screen before completing.

4) Move USDG into OKX Pay (so it can fund card spending)

Buying USDG doesn’t mean it’s already in OKX Pay—it first lands your funding or trading balance. After your purchase:

  • Go to PayOKX Pay.

  • Choose Add

  • Select USDG, enter the amount, and confirm.

5) Verify your USDG Balance

Before you try to pay:

  • Check that your OKX Pay balance shows USDG.

  • Confirm your card is active and unlocked.

  • If you’re paying in-store, confirm the card is added to Apple Pay/Google Pay (where supported).

Common funding issues

  • Holding BTC/ETH or anything other than USDC or USDG won’t work for card payments.

  • Insufficient supported balance can lead to declines.

  • Cashback eligibility depends on the funding stablecoin (currently USDG only).
