Why can't I sell spot assets or use them for spot trading?
If you encounter a situation where you can't sell your spot assets or use them for spot trading, please refer to the following scenarios for resolution.
1. Assets are in the funding account
To conduct spot trade, you need to transfer your assets to your trading account.
Open the app and tap on Assets in the bottom right corner, then select Transfer. Choose the account you want to transfer from, such as from the funding account to the trading account. Enter the quantity you wish to transfer, or tap Max to transfer all funds. Confirm the transfer operation.
After completing the above steps, your funds will be successfully transferred to your trading account, and you can start spot trade.
2. The asset is a non-tradable asset
"Non-tradable assets" refer to digital assets that the platform doesn't support and can't be traded on the platform. Non-tradable assets can be divided into the following four categories:
Cryptocurrencies are not supported by OKX.
OKX doesn't support sending cryptocurrencies that are not on the network.
Cryptocurrencies that are about to be or have already been delisted from OKX.
Some airdrop tokens
If your assets are non-tradable, you can't sell them. You need to withdraw them to another platform where they can be traded.
3. Assets locked in open orders or held as margin
If your spot assets are already in use — for example, held as margin for spot margin trading, placed in open limit orders, or allocated to a trading strategy — those assets will be frozen and unavailable for further transactions, including spot margin trades.
To free up these assets, cancel any open orders or close/reduce the relevant position.
