There’s a real concentration issue with XRP, but the claim that “40 addresses are probably one person” is too strong.
Current rich-list data shows the top 40 addresses hold about 55.84B XRP, but those addresses include Ripple-linked escrow wallets and major exchange/custody addresses—not simply one individual. One dataset attributes 16 of those addresses to Ripple, with ~32.44B XRP locked in escrow.
Also, current market data puts XRP around $1.00, with roughly $62.5B circulating market cap and about $100.8B FDV.
So I’d separate the argument into two parts:
Concentration: Yes, XRP ownership is highly concentrated, and Ripple-controlled/escrow supply is an important factor.
“It must fall 50–80%”: That doesn't follow automatically. A large holder concentration creates supply and centralization risk, but it isn't enough by itself to predict a specific percentage decline.
XRP is already under pressure alongside the broader crypto market; it was reported below $1 after BTC slipped under $64K today.
Bottom line: the concentration argument is worth watching, but the 50–80% downside claim is speculation, not something the wallet data proves.
