#SpaceX99%ValueFromAI Elon Musk reportedly told SpaceX employees that AI revenue could soon surpass the company’s other businesses. SpaceX is targeting approximately 10 gigawatts of computing capacity by the end of 2027, which Musk estimates could generate $300 billion to $500 billion in annual revenue. He also suggested that AI could represent 99% of SpaceX’s value within five years, combining terrestrial computing, Starlink connectivity, Starship launches and eventually orbital inference. These projections remain management targets rather than guaranteed financial outcomes. Building 10 gigawatts of capacity would require enormous spending on chips, electricity, cooling and facilities. Orbital computing introduces additional technical and economic challenges. My view is that SpaceX’s vertical integration creates a distinctive AI opportunity, but the valuation should reflect significant execution risk. Investors should compare actual contracted AI revenue, utilization and margins against the capital required. SpaceX may become an AI infrastructure leader, but its rocket and satellite businesses still provide the foundation supporting that ambition.
