CPI → Crypto Reaction
CPI came in friendly for risk assets.
July headline CPI rose just 0.1% MoM, while annual inflation eased to 3.4%. Core CPI cooled to 2.5%.
Here’s what matters for crypto:
🟠 $BTC — Softer inflation can reduce hawkish Fed pressure, but BTC still needs lower yields + a weaker dollar to sustain the move.
🔵 $ETH — Improving liquidity conditions are supportive, but ETH needs real demand and follow-through—not just a CPI bounce.
🟣 $SOL — Higher beta means potentially bigger upside if risk appetite expands, but also sharper downside if yields reverse.
🟡 $XAUT — Gold plays a different game. Inflation risk, geopolitical uncertainty and currency concerns can keep demand for tokenized gold strong.
The real question isn't:
“Was CPI bullish?”
It's:
Does softer inflation lead to lower yields, weaker DXY and sustained liquidity flowing into risk assets?
If yes → crypto can build a trend.
If not → today's move could simply be another volatility spike.
Watch PPI + Fed communication + incoming inflation data.
